We got the chance to get a 3D ultrasound at the GE medical training facility in Brookfield. It was beyond amazing. We actually got to see Fritzie's face, feet, and hands. So far it looks like she's got the Fritz nose and feet, but we'll have to see. These were done at about 26 weeks, so she has a lot of filling out to do before we'll know for sure.

Baby Fritz's Nursery
Our little girl's room has undergone quite an transformation. When we moved in it was a Pepto-Bismol pink room with brown trim, and spider webs everywhere. We toned down the pink, painted the trim and doors white, and got everything cleaned up (when I say 'we', I mean Gary and Brian). Thanks to the Nanna's for lending us Audrey's bassinet. We're so excited, Fritzie is going to love it!

Couldn't help ourselves
We found this onsie on a recent shopping trip, and Brian had to have it. I hope she's a fan!

Our first baby purchase
Although it's a bit early, we feel like we're a little behind the curve as far as getting ready for our little girl. We'd already been keeping an eye out for a fluffy warm bunting outfit to bring her home in, and hadn't seen anything we liked. Until this. We found it online, and then checked it out in the store. We just couldn't resist, and managed to rationalize it in preparation for Fritzie's first Wisconsin winter (and thank you to Aunt Judy for coming up with a nickname!).
And it's a....
We had our 21 week ultrasound on Oct. 3rd, and were able to find out that our newest addition is going to be a...Girl!! We're so excited. Our first ultrasound tech had guessed that, but they are pretty sure this time, seeing as she's so much bigger now. It was amazing to see her again, moving around and saying hello. And she's quite the mover! Jessica has been feeling movements for a few weeks now.

No wonder we have AT&T...
This is what my car looked like after my car accident two weeks ago. A Time Warner Cable truck hit the car behind me, which slammed into me. Because I was pregnant, and because the force of the impact threw me into the seatbelt and steering wheel which caused abdominal pain, I was taken to the hospital immediately. We were very worried for awhile, and while I'm still recovering, the baby is fine. Can't say the same for my car, though...
Florida
As a 'thank-you' for everything they did for our wedding, we rented one of Brian's aunt & uncle's houses in Cape Coral, Florida, and took our parents down the first weekend in September. It was so much fun! We fished a lot, went boating, and even got to have lunch one day in a Packer bar in Fort Myers - who knew?

First Ultrasound - 17 Weeks

We went for our first ultrasound on September 3rd. After all the surprises we had gotten the previous few weeks, we were extremely nervous to hear what the ultrasound tech would say. Since twins run in Brian's family, we were almost expecting to see two babies! But as you can see, we've just got one very photogenic baby on the way. It was so amazing to see these images, and we both laughed and cried as we watched our baby move around on the screen. It made everything so much more real. The baby is measuring right on target, and weighed about 6 ounces in these pictures. Our doctor set the due date for February 11, 2009.

Positive!!
It may be hard to believe, but we didn't know we were pregnant until we were 4 months in. There were no signs or symptoms, nothing was 'missing' each month, and on top of that, I was losing weight for our wedding. Looking back, there was fatigue, but I chalked that up to wedding stress. About a week after returning from our honeymoon, I realized something was missing from that month - my period. I took a pregnancy test, and was certain it would be negative. It wasn't. Brian was at basketball that night, so I got another test, and took that one, too. Positive again. When he walked in that night, I handed him both tests without a word. Needless to say, we were both in a state of shock! I confirmed it with a blood test at my doctor (and two more home pregnancy tests, just to be sure). Two weeks later we were at our first OB-GYN appointment, ready to get our due date. Since we were going off of my last period, we figured I was about 6 weeks along, and was due in May. When the doctor told us she was going to listen for the baby's heart beat, I knew something was up, because you can't hear that at 6 weeks. The loudest, strongest heartbeat filled the room, and the doctor informed us we were not 6 weeks along, but 16! I was four months pregnant, already into my second trimester, and due in February. I didn't think I could experience shock greater than a positive pregnancy test, but was I ever wrong! That was about 6 weeks ago, and our excitement grows daily. It was so fun telling family and friends, and seeing their shock and excitement as well.
Baby Fritz
Brian and I wanted to be able to post baby updates for all of our friends and family, as they're scattered all over the country! Since our pregnancy so far has been full of surprises, we're sure there are many more to come.
